As the approaches, the Chinese are thrilled to finally receive the new ipad.
It is no secret that the Chinese market is huge. With more than 1.2 billion inhabitants and a rapidly growing middle class who have available money, China is on track to become a tremendously powerful force in the market for electronics.
Therefore, it has undoubtedly been a loss for Apple since they have not released their new iPad until recently. The lawsuit was a dispute about rights to the name iPad from the company PROVIEW.
Recently the matter has been settled, with Apple having to pay $60 million to the small company, and it also means that they can send their newest iPad to be on sale in China.
The price of the new iPad seems to be a reasonable comparison to the U.S. prices, since Apple is not exactly known to spike prices in some markets. This means of course that in relation to the Chinese average wages, an Apple iPad is still very expensive, and it's probably not the average Chinese person who is the immediate audience.
It is expected that China, within a very few years will be a bigger market for Apple than the U.S. is today, and therefore they are no doubt pleased that the 20th July brought the new iPad to the Chinese - about three months late. Hopefully for the Chinese, the iphone 5 release date will be on time with the rest of the world.
